A Special Thanks...
Skowhegan ME, August 11, 2004Due to unforeseen circumstances (a band member was sick) we were unable to perform our scheduled August 7th gig at JB's Tavern in Madison.
We would like to express our thanks to Jim, the owner of JB's for his understanding and rescheduling us for Friday, August 27th. There will be no cover charge and drink specials will be offered the entire night.
We also want to thank our loyal (and new) fans who came out to see us perform that night. We hope to see you all there Friday, August 27th.
Level 3's premier band, IX Theories, literally brings down the house.
Skowhegan ME, April 12, 2004A capacity crowd waited in line for up to 45 minutes the night of March 27 for a chance to watch as the premier band of Level 3, Skowhegan's newest night spot, literally brought the house down.
The band, IX Theories, created such a celebration among Level 3's patrons that toward the end of the night plaster started cracking and falling from the lower-level ceiling of the three-floor night club, prompting management to cut short the performance out of safety concerns. The enthusiastic crowd had also decimated Level 3's inventory of beverages during the evening.
It was later determined that damage was merely cosmetic, and that club patrons were never in any danger.
Level 3, which opened March 5th in downtown Skowhegan, currently has a capacity of 289and estimates are that at least that many patrons showed up to hear IX Theories play. The three-floor night club has a lower level, a street level with a full bar, and an upper level that's still under construction.
IX Theories is not a new name around the Skowhegan area. In addition to its memorable Level 3 appearance, the band has played recently at The Bear's Den, Eaton Mountain, and Bloomfield's Tavern. IX Theories is popular as far south as Waldoboro, where two of the band members grew up.
Level 3 usually opens on Sunday but reportedly had to stay closed the day after IX Theories's wall-rattling performance to regroupand to stock up on alcoholic beverages. The club's bars and coolers, while fully stocked as the band took the stage Saturday evening, were left completely empty by the time the standing-room-only crowd witnessed the ceiling start to crumble later that night.
IX Theories will be returning to Level 3 Saturday, May 1st.
